How to be happier
Living a happy life is the goal of everyone, but how can you achieve happiness in your life? With all the conflicting information about how to achieve happiness, we’ve found a few actionable tips on how to be happier.
Stress can lead to high blood pressure and can increase the risk of heart attacks. Keeping calm in stressful situations helps the body regulate itself and reduce the risk of illness. During a panic attack, take deep breaths and count to focus your mind.
It is extremely important to get enough sleep. Sleep helps the body recharge and repair, and wards off serious illnesses. REM sleepis essential to our minds for process and make sense of the day’s activities. Ideally you should get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Insomnia destroys the happiness.
Being in a healthy relationship is good for your mental health as well as your physical health. Studies have shown that single people are more likely to suffer from depression, and being able to discuss your worries with a significant other reduces stress and anxiety. Similarly, having a supportive partner will boost self-confidence and relieve financial burdens.
Sex is a great way of getting your heart healthy and a fun way of exercising! Like being in a good mood, endorphins are produced during sex which make you feel happy and relaxed. Engaging in sex regularly makes you feel healthier and reduces stress.
Whilst having children can at times be hard work, being a parent is particularly rewarding. The unconditional love you get and receive from your child is like nothing else. The pride you gain from watching your child or children meet milestones and achieve their goals is hugely beneficial to your mental health.
To be self-confident isn’t about your appearance – it is about yourself as a whole. Making new friends, trying new things and learning to love yourself are all important ways to boost your self-esteem and be happy.
Having enough money to live comfortably will take away the stress of worrying about money. Saving towards a holiday or a new car will give you a personal goal to work towards, and make you more motivated.
